  • 1 large ripe watermelon Choose a ripe watermelon, ideally with a yellow spot for optimal sweetness.

Preparation

  • Cut the watermelon into chunks, removing any seeds.
  • Place the chunks in a blender.
  • Blend on high for about a minute, or until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  • If desired, strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve for a smoother drink.
  • Add a pinch of salt and stir well.
  • Chill in the refrigerator or serve immediately over ice.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For long-term storage, freeze in ice cube trays for up to 3 months. You can customize with mint, lime, ginger, or other fruits.
