Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Use ripe and sweet strawberries for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Helps enhance the flavor of strawberries.

For the crumble topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Can substitute with maple syrup.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with lemon juice and set them aside.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Pour in the melted butter and vanilla extract, then mix until the mixture resembles a crumbly texture.
  • Spread half of the crumble mixture into a greased pie dish.
  • Layer the marinated strawberries on top, then sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over them.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the strawberries are bubbling.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for up to two months.
