Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup bell pepper, chopped (use any color)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Biscuits

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked—about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet, stirring until they soften, roughly 3-4 minutes.
  • Mix in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let this simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • In a baking dish, lay down the biscuits, ensuring they cover the bottom.
  • Pour the sloppy joe mixture over the biscuits evenly.
  • If you’re using cheese, sprinkle it over the top now.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Best served warm. Pair with a side of crispy green salad or sweet potato fries. For an extra treat, add a dollop of sour cream or guacamole on top. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
