  • 4 pieces cod fillets (about 6 ounces each) Other white fish like haddock or tilapia can be used as substitutes.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Freshly squeezed for the best flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika For a bit of warmth.
  • as needed Fresh parsley or dill for garnish Optional

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the cod fillets on a lined baking sheet. Brush the olive oil mixture generously over each fillet.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or dill before serving.

Notes

For best results, marinate the cod for 30 minutes before baking. You can also bake sliced tomatoes or bell peppers alongside the cod for added texture and taste.
