Ingredients
  

For the Pasta

  • 1 lb lean ground beef Use at least 90% lean for less grease.
  • 0.5 cup medium onion, diced
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper To taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Optional
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 cups bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley Optional for garnish

Instructions
 

Brown the Ground Beef

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onions and minced garlic, and cook until the beef is no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
  • Drain off any excess fat, if desired. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Cook the Pasta

  • Stir in the beef broth, heavy whipping cream, and uncooked bowtie pasta.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet.
  • Let it simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed.

Add the Cheese

  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Continue to stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

Serve

  • Serve the creamy ground beef and bowtie pasta warm, garnished with fresh parsley and extra shredded cheese, if desired.

Notes

Leftover creamy ground beef and bowtie pasta can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For freezing, add the cheese after thawing to keep the texture smooth.
