  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch Helps to thicken the filling.
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness.

  • 1 tablespoon butter, diced For richness.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Combine the flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  • Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the ice water until the dough begins to form.
  • Roll out the dough and fit it into a pie dish.

Filling

  • In another bowl, mix the fruit, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and salt.
  • Pour this filling into the prepared crust.
  • Dot the top with diced butter for added richness.

Baking

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust turns golden and the filling bubbles enticingly.

Notes
