Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed

For assembly

  • 12 pieces taco shells
  • 1 cup salsa choose your favorite brand
  • to taste chopped lettuce for serving
  • to taste sour cream for serving
  • to taste sliced jalapeños for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Mix shredded chicken with taco seasoning in a large bowl until thoroughly combined.
  • Stuff each taco shell with the chicken mixture, followed by black beans and a sprinkle of cheese.
  • Arrange the filled taco shells in a baking dish and pour salsa generously over the top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  • Serve hot, topped with chopped lettuce, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños.

Notes

For a healthier twist, consider using whole wheat taco shells or Greek yogurt as a sour cream substitute. Don’t overstuff your taco shells to prevent them from breaking while baking.
